Youth Talent Incubator

About the Talent Incubator

The Skillcity Talent Incubator is a mentoring and life-skills program that helps youth and young adults facing socioeconomic barriers, including those transitioning from government care, build the confidence and practical skills needed for adulthood. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, peer connection, and real-world experiences, participants gain tools they can use in everyday life.

From financial literacy, housing, wellbeing, relationships, and self-advocacy to career exploration, education, STEM, and entrepreneurship, participants explore the building blocks for greater independence and future success. The program also creates opportunities to connect with mentors, peers, and the community while building a stronger sense of belonging.

How the Program Works

Participants attend three life-skills mentoring sessions each month, plus one monthly social and community activity to build connections and belonging. The program also includes two Indigenous-focused learning experiences that support cultural learning and community connection

Refer a Youth

Know a young person who could benefit from the Talent Incubator? Case workers, community organizations, educators, mentors, and youth-serving partners can refer eligible or potentially eligible youth and young adults. Skillcity will connect with the young person, explain the program, and support them through onboarding.
